Description
Elizabeth Clapp Porter (1822-1904), the daughter of Capt. Richard King Porter and Mary Clapp Porter, married Alexander Wadsworth Longfellow (1814-1901), son of Stephen and Zilpah Wadsworth Longfellow, all of Portland, in 1851.
The daguerreotype was taken before her marriage.
The couple had five children, Mary King Longfellow, Alexander Jr., Elizabeth Porter Longfellow, Lucia Wadsworth Longfellow, and Richard King Longfellow.
