Description
This hay press was used by some farmers to compress large quantities of hay for export to areas outside of Stockholm,New Sweden. The bundles were tied up with strong wires. The bundles were too heavy to handle by hane so some mechanical devise was used.
The press was constructed by hand out of hardwood and metal braces. The cable that the horses pulled on were on a large wooden pulley. The pulley was about 41/2 ft in diameter and was also of wood.
