Description
This unique photo, taken in 1917, shows a summertime cultivating crew just east of Presque Isle on what is now State Street. At the time the street was known as Fort Street.
Ben Marks and Hugh McKay are posing in the picture along with about 13 teams of horses and crews.
The potato blossoms are out, which means it is cultivating time.
The farm house in the background is the Albert Akeley farm.
