Description
This aerial view portrays how massive the State Prison was in comparison to the rest of the village. Main Street runs diagonally across the lower left corner of the postcard.
The Georges River snakes in from the lower right and makes a couple of turns before heading southwest to the sea. Mill River is about a quarter of the way down the left side of the photo. The steel bridge across the Georges, leading to Brooklyn Heights and Cushing, can be seen on the middle right.
