Description
Soldier Frederick H. Rogers of Bangor wrote to his mother, Hannah Rogers, on October 11, 1861 while he was stationed with the 4th Maine Regiment at Lawson's Hill, Virginia.
He included a sketch of the countryside and of the cooking facilities.
