Description
A recruiting advertisement run by the Pepperell Mills, aimed at women, which appeared in the Biddeford Journal on September 17, 1943. There were numerous of these advertisements which appeared throughout the war years, aimed at convincing homemakers they could go to work. The creation of child-care centers in Biddeford and Saco were a direct result of the need for women workers in the mills. This is one of the smallest advertisements, many of which were half or full page poster-style advertisements.
