Description
Charles John Dunn was born in 1872 in Michigan, and ll or 12 years later, he graduated from Blue Hill Academy. He slowly worked his way up to Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Court in 1918 and Maine Supreme Court Chief Justice in 1935. He died 4 years after his chief justice appointment. After President Taft's Presidency (1909-1913) Taft was appointed Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and apparently quoted extensively from a case Dunn had ruled at the time.
