Description
A beaded collar belonged to Elizabeth Akers Allen (1832-1911). A native of Strong who grew up in Farmington, Elizabeth Chase married artist Benjamin Paul Akers in 1860. He died in 1861. She later married E. M. Allen of New York.
A poet, Elizabeth Akers had written under the name "Florence Percy," but began writing as "Elizabeth Akers" and kept that name professionally.
