Description
Construction of a bridge across Lubec Channel between Lubec and Campobello Island, New Brunswick, is documented in this photograph. Three piers appear complete, with a fourth under construction, The initial I beam is in place. According to notes on the rear of this photograph, this I beam is 125 feet long and weighs approximately 12 tons. September 8, 1961. The notes also name the photographer as Ronald MacDonald, who probably took a number of construction progress photographs.
