Description
In this photograph Teacher Rena Bonsey and students pose on the hill next to the "big rock" that exists to this day.
Mrs. Bonsey's teaching career began at age 17 at the Sugar Hill school in Eastbrook. In the mid 1940s she started teaching full time in Surry. After brief stops in Eastbrook, Lamoine and later in Brooksville, she retired in 1967.
