Description
Champlain Society members in the parlor tent at Camp Pemetic 1881. Seated around the table are: J.L. Wakefield, Spelman, S.A. Eliot, Rand, C. Eliot, and Lovering.
Members of the Champlain Society set up their base camp, called Camp Pemetic, along Somes Sound during the summers of 1880 and 1881. From their camp, the Champlain Society members would set out on daily excursions to document new plant species and other natural features of the island.
