Description
Grooved wooden rolling pin, ca. 1845. The Stover family in South Harpswell used this rolling pin to make gingerbread served at militia musters held on The Mall in Brunswick. Musters were annual events with parades and prizes that sometimes turned rowdy, perhaps because of the rum toddies served with the gingerbread! Paul Stover was in charge of these musters.
