Description
Sailmaking palms are worn on the hand and used to push the sailmaker's needle through heavy materials.
The seaming palm is used for hand-stitching panels of canvas together while making sails.
This well-worn palm, owned by Camden sailmaker Amos Perkins Lord, is missing the round metal eye that supported the end of the needle while pushing through the fabric.
