Description
This leather-bound trunk holds the Masonic uniform regalia belonging to James F. Manion (1854-1900). Manion was a member of the F & A. M. Dunlap Commandery of the No. 5 K.T. Masons and worked at the Shannon House as a clerk. The Shannon House was originally the home of William and Ann King; upon William's death in 1852, it was moved to Vine Street, enlarged and used as a tavern and inn. While Manion was a member, the Dunlap Commandery met at the Ledyard Block on the corner of Centre and Washington Streets.
