Description
This simple monument located in Pine Grove Cemetery, Portland commemorates Civil War veteran, George Byron Stevens (1839-1926), 1st lieutenant of Co. E of the 25th Maine Volunteers; and his wife, Jean S. Graham (1843-1921).
Families of veterans like Stevens who died long after the war, were less apt to elaborately commemorate their loved one's service in the Civil War.
