Description
This sleek, black 1940s silk crêpe evening dress embraces the feminine, statuesque elements popularized by movies during the golden age of Hollywood. Embellished with glass beads and rhinestones, it includes a striking bright pink rayon sash draped down one side of the floor-length skirt. The custom of wearing long dresses for eveningwear carried over from the previous decade. This dress’ bold pink choice draws the eye toward the hips and down the leg, creating curves while elongating the wearer’s figure. The dress was likely dressmaker made.
