Description
Radio stations like WABI in Bangor sent publicity photographs, like this photograph of Hal Lone Pine riding a horse, to fans for marketing purposes and to let fans know what the radio stars looked like.
The Breau family lived on a farm in Auburn where they kept two horses and a pony for “Lone Pine Junior,” the nickname for son Lenny Breu. Betty Cody recalled singing the Cattle Call song while watching horses and her son Lenny, at about age three, intuitively singing the third part of the harmony.
The back of this photograph contains song lyrics for I’ll Be Waiting Patiently For You My Darling, by Hal Lone Pine, a reference to World War II.
