Description
Ken MacKenzie introduced the concept of country-Western variety shows to Maine audiences, on the radio and in person performances. He hired regular show performers, and hosted special guests and teenagers from the Portland region.
Comedian Betty Gribben starred on the Ken MacKenzie Show throughout the entire radio and television series. Gribben noted on the front and back of this photograph: the Sod Busters show musicians Joe Galleon (bass), Lou Raymond (fiddle) and Bill Duplissen (accordion); tap dancers, and yodelers. In the center of the photo, Ken MacKenzie held the guitar and Betty Gribben stood behind him to the right.
