Description

Organized from T12 R5 WELS in the 1870s, Sheridan merged with neighboring Ashland in 1900. Sheridan Mill operated on the Aroostook River, which carried logs from lumber camps, in the early twentieth century, and lumbering continued to drive the local economy for decades. Most milling facilities have disappeared, but boom piers are still visible in the Aroostook River. The area's connection to the lumber industry continues today with the Daaquam mill in Masardis.

This undated card was printed in Germany for W. J. Campbell, who worked as a druggist in Ashland in the early twentieth century.
