Description
Hannah Pierce, teaching school in Fryeburg, writes to her brother Josiah, who has just returned to their parents' home in Baldwin.
Hannah expresses sadness that she is not in Baldwin also, enjoying the "warm smile of Parental and fraternal affection" that awaits Josiah.
She also discusses her students, saying, "I have upwards of forty schollars, som of whom are wise and some are otherwise even to an extreem." She comments that the students lack ambition.
