Description
The three-masted schooner Fred B. Balano was built in Port Clyde in 1890 by Washburn Brothers shipbuilders. Here it is pictured docked along Water Street. In the early 1900s a group of Lubec businessmen purchased the vessel, adding it to the "Magdalen Fleet" which carried fish and other products.
