Description
Arno Shepardson, great-grandson of A.S. Rand who raised the ox Mt. Katahdin, is seated beneath the mounted ox in the barn of the Haskell homestead on Clark Hill in Stetson.
Katahdin was one of two oxen that Rand raised to be the "world's largest."
The mounted Mt. Katahdin burned in a fire that destroyed the homestead in 1934.
