Description
Eliab Shepardson Jr., great-grandson of A.S.Rand who raised Mt. Katahdin, is seated on the mounted ox at the Haskell homestead on Clark Hill in Stetson.
Katahdin was one of two oxen that Rand raised to be the "world's largest."
The mounted Mt. Katahdin burned in a fire that destroyed the homestead in 1934.
