Description
This map which appears in Lucia Wadsworth's the school notebook shows the United States as understood by a school child in 1794. The Longitudes are different, because the international community had not agreed upon a standard longitude in 1794. Note how few states there are west of Pennsylvania. In 1794, the boundaries and territory of the continental United States were unexplored and unmapped.
