Description
This post card is the view from Point Aaron on Deer Island looking across Moosehead Lake. Deer Island is one of the largest islands on Moosehead Lake and was the site of "Capens". "Capens" was a well known resort and a frequent destination of the steamboats.
From Point Aaron it is approximately 20 miles to Mount Kineo, which can be seen in the distance on this postcard. Mount Kineo was the site of a large hotel, the famous Mount Kineo House. Moosehead Lake is forty miles long and twenty miles wide at its widest point.
