Description
Members of the Casco Engine Company presented Captain Franklin C. Moody this embossed silver speaking trumpet on February 8, 1849. Moody later became chief engineer of the Portland Fire Department.
Fire officials used speaking trumpets to communicate with firefighters and civilians at fire scenes.
