Description
This unique John Dunn photo was taken from atop Mount Kineo in August of 1888. Grand resorts like this one on Kineo Point were typical of those constructed around Maine meant to attract wealthy out-of-state, urban dwelling tourists eager to escape city life. In the late 19th century, the Moosehead Lake region was famous for its abundant fish and game as well as breathtaking, pristine scenery.
