Description
According to school records the Lincoln Academy Class of 1897 included class members Frank Butler, Alton Curtis, Minnie Dodge, Georgia Day, Mandana Foster, Mary Hilton, Emma Hodgkins, Herbert Loud, Flora Page, and Florence Weeks. With the exception of Headmaster George Howard Larrabee, who is seated in the center of the back row, the identities of the individuals in this photo is unknown.
Lincoln Academy, chartered in 1801 by the General Court of Massachusetts 'for the purpose of promoting Piety, Religion, and Morality' is the fourth oldest secondary school in Maine that is still in existence as of 2022.
