Description
Miss Frances McHenry, the leading lady at Keith's Theater, posed for a portrait. Keith's Theater, located on Congress Street in Portland, opened in 1908. The venue seated 1,600 patrons and hosted vaudeville acts, stage shows, and occasional movies.
In the 1920s, the theater transitioned to exclusively showing films. It changed its name to The Civic in 1939 and remained open until 1963. In 1965, the building was demolished and replaced with a parking lot.
