Description
The popular style of broad, padded shoulders, tight belted waists, and shorter A-line skirts that later dominated early 1940s fashions first emerged in the mid 1930s. This dress and cape "charming ensemble" from 1936 demonstrates the new trend.
A Parisian designer sent this line sheet to customers in Maine. It arrived at Maine Historical Society with artist Mildred Burrage's papers.
