Description
Architecture commission for Hancock Point Chapel Society at 919 Point Road in Hancock, ME, 1898. The commission is associated with John Calvin Stevens. This item is part of the Stevens Architects drawings and records collection.
The Hancock Point Chapel Society was formed in the summer of 1897 “for the purpose of erecting a chapel or place of worship,” according to its charter. The Society was the outgrowth of a Sunday school established a year earlier by the wife of the lighthouse keeper and another woman.
