Child's ocelot fur collar, Portland, ca. 1952

Description

A young child's ocelot fur collar by L.H. Schlosberg Furriers, located in Portland’s Trelawney Building on Congress Street. The collar was reportedly purchased directly from its maker, seamstress Sarah J. (Spinney) Durant (1880-1972) who worked for Schlosberg Furs for many years. The successful Schlosberg Furs operated in Portland between 1894-1991.

The collar is lined in pink silk with a plastic rhinestone clasp.
