Description
Harry Rust Virgin(1854-), son of William Wirt Virgin, was born at Norway, and became the second half of the only father and son team to serve as presidents of the Maine Senate.
He graduated from Tufts in 1879, was admitted to the bar in 1882, and set up a law practice in Portland.
His public life began in 1897 when he was elected to the Portland City Council and continued with a term in the Maine House of Representatives from 1899 to 1901.
From 1901 to 1904 he served in the Maine State Senate, the last two years as its presiding officer.
