Description
The Columbia Hotel on Front Street in Bath around 1905. The hotel was run by William J. O'Brien (1866-1926) and his wife Charlotte (1867-1938), who had come to Bath in 1889 to work in the hospitality industry. Before the O'Briens purchased the building, it had been used as both a cigar store and a restaurant. The building to the left was converted into the Dreamland Theater in 1909, and an elaborate false front was put on the building to disguised the precious two-bay, vernacular commercial structure.
This postcard was sent in July of 1910 with the message "Kind Regards from Pearle and Mama."
