Description
Gookin's landscape depicts Cutts Island in its last years as a residential area. Mainland Saco is on the right side of the painting, as well as a colonial dwelling and grist or sawmills. The left side of the painting contains the 1804 three-story home of Richard Cutts, third son of Thomas and Elizabeth Cutts. Thomas Cutts' Georgian home sits across the road.
