Description
Walter R. and Arletta Small bought the West Lubec Basley Store in 1958. A barber, Walter added a single chair operating through 1961 as the last barber station in the Town of Lubec. The long-abandoned barber chair and associated furnishings were moved to the Lubec Historical Society about 2006.
The State Board of Barbers and Hairdressers has since been replaced by the Maine Office of Licensing and Registration Barbering and Cosmetology Program.
