Description
Armistice between the Allies and Germany, the agreement that ended the fighting in the First World War, was signed on 11 November 1918. Parades of celebration in Lubec and across the nation took place on that date. Handwritten on the backside of this photographic postcard is, “November 11, 1918 Peacock Packers in Lubec, Allan Crane driver.” The Peacock Packing Company was a long time sardine firm in Lubec.
