Description
Brunswick High School, located on the corner of McKeen and Spring Streets, was built in 1937 to replace various other schools, which had burned and were rebuilt several times.
Constructed with funds from the Works Progress Administration and with subsequent "wing" expansions in 1951 ad 1961, the school accommodated Brunswick's population until 1995, when the town built a new High School on Maquoit Road.
Brunswick demolished the "old" High School in August 2009 and later built the Harriet Beecher Stowe elementary school on the same location in 2011.
