Description
The perspective used for this postcard is from the Portland side of the Million Dollar Bridge looking toward South Portland. The bridge was constructed in 1916 as a cement and steel Bascule bridge. It spanned the Fore River and connected South Portland to Portland via route 77.
The Million Dollar Bridge was superseded by the Casco Bay Bridge in 1997 and officially closed in 1998.
