Description
Russell S. Morse (1820-1883) was an inventor and dealer in Patent Rights and lived in the East Dixfield area known as Science Hill. Science Hill is so named because there were many inventors and men of science creating inventions of necessity at this time. The cabbage slicer allowed for the pickling and preserving of harvest crops. There is a small tag on the slicer that reads Patent Applied For R. S. Morse--Dixfield, ME.
