Description
Occupying the remodeled Hotel Stanley barn on Main Street in Dixfield, Hudon Furniture opened on April 3, 1947. The store carried a complete line of furniture and appliances.
Originally from Lewiston, owners Denis and Jeanette Hudon made their home on High Street in Dixfield and first opened a furniture store in Ridlonville (Mexico) the year before. Jeanette managed the Dixfield Store.
Both stores closed in the 1950s as the Hudons opened a larger store on Canal Street in Rumford. The Hudons had two children, June and James, and were participants in many community activities.
