INTRODUCTION: Manuscript Collection 4 in the Maine Historical Society, Portland, Maine, is called the Portland Voter Registrations. The Record of Naturalization Papers from Deering are volume 82 of that collection. This volume is a handwritten list of names and dates when their naturation papers were filed. Deering was a separate town in Maine beginning in 1871. It was annexed by Portland in 1899/1900.
