Description
The Eighth Maine Regiment Building on Peaks Island, taken in about 1895. The building was dedicated in 1891 as a memorial to the Eighth Maine Regiment that served in the Civil War.
William M. McArthur of Limington, who was a colonel in the Eighth Maine Regiment, spent $12,000 to build the memorial.
