Description
DuMond Manufacturing Company claims on the side of this Klean Kwick Vacuum Washer (patent 1913) that it is "not the largest washing machine factory in the world, but we will be."
The metal washer consists of an enclosed tub with a series of gears to agitate the clothing.
The Horse Shoe Brand clothes wringer is attached to the side by c-clamps and is "warranted for three years for family use." It was patented in 1881.
This machine was in the home of Durham residents Harold and Maxine Herling.
