Description

Taken moments before the christening of the sardine carrier Mary Anne newly built for Moses Bernard Pike of Lubec and his Holmes Packing Company.

From left are Laura Sleight Pike in the light-shade hat), Moses Bernard Pike, Alger Wayland Pike, the tallest person; George McCurdy, standing in front of McCurdy, Herbert Hicks; Radcliff Barnes Pike and Carroll Peacock.

Others are Ann Crane Pike, Marjorie Davis Pike, Peter George McCurdy, the boy wearing glasses; Lois Peacock Warren, Carroll Peacock’s sister; Anne Sleight Pike, Dan Warren, wearing glasses, Mary Pike, holding the bottle; unidentified, unidentified, Carol Anne Pike, the girl; Kermit St. Peter, manager of Holmes Packing Company; and Jacob Bradford Pike, the boy.

Herbert Hicks was the longtime captain of the Mary Anne.
