Description
John D. Myrick of Augusta served with the 1st Maine Cavalry, Company K at the ranks of 2nd and 1st Lieutenant and later as Captain.
He was from Augusta, enlisted in November 1861 and was discharged in August 1865.
Myrick was a lawyer. He had served in the University Guards in Cambridge, Mass., from April to September 1861.
He was breveted as a major for "gallant and meritorious" services.
