Description
Basketball has been a favorite school sport in Maine for many years. This is the Princeton High School
basketball team for 1941. The players standing in the back row, from left to right, are: Roger Furbish, Harold Pratt, Raymond Seamons, William Baskin, Orville Moore and Joseph Ciechon. The players sitting in the front row, from left to right, are: Ivan Edgerly, Glendon Day, Joe Wallace, Carleton Brown, Karl Day, Cecil Sherman and George Monk.
From 1867 until 1967 Princeton secondary students attended the high school on School Street. In 1968 Princeton began tuitioning students to attend Woodland High School in Baileyville. The town planned to renovate the high school building for another use, but it was torn down in 1978.
