Description
James Harvey Stinson is pictured here as the grand marshall of a parade in downtown Belfast in the early 1900s. He is shown dressed in his Civil War uniform with his daughter Maude sitting on his lap.
Stinson, originally from Prospect, enlisted on December 19, 1863 with the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery. He was discharged a year later with severe facial wounds and returned to live in Belfast.
