Description
Maurice Horne operated this small Tydol gas station on lower Weld Street in Dixfield in the late 1930s and 1940s. Harold "Puff" Arnold assumed ownership in the 1950s and converted the building into a neighborhood grocery store serving the Weld, High, Pine, and North Streets' neighborhood for many years. Other owners through the years have been Albert Sedgley, Armond Thibedeau, Harry Francis, Hayden "Pop" Newman and Butch Carey. Tom Powell bought the property in 2007 and converted it to Surrey Seafood. Ownership changed once again in 2011 to Joy and Clint Bradbury who continue to operate the seafood shop and eatery in 2014.
