Franklin-style stove, Portland, ca. 1830

Description

This Franklin-style stove, which would have been inserted into a fireplace, burned either wood or coal, and radiated heat more efficiently than a fireplace hearth.

It was made by Nathan Winslow & Company in Portland and came from a house in Camden.
